“This edition celebrates our past, but it is above all a commitment to the future. Portugal Fashion wants to continue to be a driving force for transformation in Portuguese fashion, connecting designers, industry and territory with a vision of innovation and sustainability. We believe in the power of fashion as an economic and cultural force, capable of projecting Portugal to the world”, Portugal Fashion director Mónica Neto told Lusa news agency.
Portugal Fashion celebrates its 30th anniversary with a “decentralized, immersive and strategic” edition, combining fashion, territory and innovation from July 1st to 5th, and the theme of this edition is “Fashion, Lifestyle & Innovation”, where a model “designed to bring the creative sector closer to the industry, the entrepreneurial community and the territory” will be presented.
The Tram Museum, in Porto, will be the headquarters of the Portugal Fashion Experience 2025, hosting fashion shows, brand activations, startup exhibitions and professional meetings.
In this edition, Portugal Fashion also takes Portuguese fashion to new stages, integrating gastronomic, cultural and industrial experiences, always with a sustainable and innovation-oriented approach, as the presentation states.
The event will take place in several regions of Northern Portugal, with events in places such as the Douro region, on a farm in Alijó, Matosinhos, Gondomar and Famalicão, “in a strategy of territorial decentralization that reinforces the role of fashion in the valorization of tourist, industrial and cultural assets”, explains Portugal Fashion, ensuring that the main stage will always be Porto.
Throughout the week of July 1st to 5th, Portugal Fashion Experience 2025 will feature the presentation of collections by designers Miguel Vieira, David Catalán, Pé de Chumbo, Davii, Estelita Mendonça, Hugo Costa, Maria Gambina, Susana Bettencourt, Nopin and Achor.
The Portuguese duo Marques’Almeida will present a show on a farm in Alijó, in the district of Vila Real, with a landscape marked by terraced vineyards, where the Douro, Tua, Tinhela and Pinhão rivers meet. The Ernest W. Baker brand, by the duo Inês Amorim and Reid Baker, will participate in the event with an exclusive presentation for Portugal Fashion.
The fashion event will also present the finalists of the Bloom competition, at the former Vasco da Gama canning factory in Matosinhos, with prizes being awarded to the winners, and will also launch the first edition of the Bloom Incubator, with the presence of 10 African Canex designers and the debut of an unprecedented partnership with Saudi Arabia.
The first edition of Portugal Fashion, 30 years ago, featured international models such as Claudia Schiffer and Elle MacPherson, in the fashion shows in Porto. Over the years, the event has become international, taking Portuguese fashion to fashion weeks in Paris, Rome, Milan and New York.
According to the organizers, this special edition in the summer of 2025 marks the strategic repositioning of the event as a national platform for communication, business and innovation.
“More than just a fashion show calendar, this edition offers an immersive and decentralized experience that combines fashion, lifestyle and technology, highlighting Portugal as a true fashion hub on a global scale,” reads a press release sent to Lusa.
This edition will also include the Portugal Fashion Summit, a space for reflection and sharing where designers, investors, journalists, brands and startups come together, which will accompany the event throughout the week.
