The team, which finishes Group F on Sunday at the Estádio do Dragão in Porto against Armenia, has its first training session scheduled for 6pm, with the first 15 minutes open to the media.
Before that, also at the Cidade do Futebol in Oeiras, a player yet to be named will speak to journalists in a press conference.
Forward Carlos Forbs, from Club Brugge, is the big surprise in coach Roberto Martínez's selection, in a list of 26 players that does not include the injured Nuno Mendes.
Pedro Gonçalves and Pedro Neto were called up by the Spanish coach, but both were released on Sunday due to physical problems.
On the other hand, full-back João Cancelo and midfielder João Neves are back after missing the October training camp due to injuries.
Portugal faces the Republic of Ireland on Thursday at 7:45 PM, and a victory in Dublin guarantees the national team's qualification for the 2026 World Cup, but a draw could be enough if Hungary doesn't win in Armenia on the same day.
Qualification, Portugal's ninth in history for a World Cup, could have already happened in October if they had beaten Hungary, but the team ended up conceding a draw (2-2) in stoppage time at the José Alvalade Stadium.
Portugal leads Group F with 10 points, five more than Hungary in second place, followed by the Republic of Ireland with four, and Armenia with three.
The group winner secures a place in the final stage of the tournament, which will be held next year in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and will for the first time feature 48 teams. The second-placed team will have to compete in the knockout stages.
