This year, the festival takes place between 12 and 15 February and features 16 concerts by 14 artists and bands, spread across 15 locations (Amarante, Aveiro, Gondomar, Lagoa, Leiria, Lisbon, Lousã, Ourém, Paredes, Penafiel, Peso da Régua, Porto, Torres Novas, Vale de Cambra and Vila do Conde), according to the organisers in a statement.

The festival kicks off on 12 February with GNR at Multiusos de Gondomar, one of the new confirmations that complete the line-up.

In addition to GNR, performances by Buba Espinho on the 14th at Cine-Teatro de Amarante, Luís Trigacheiro on the 14th at Auditório Carlos do Carmo in Lagoa, and Ricardo Ribeiro with Sociedade Filarmónica Ouriense, also on the 14th at Teatro de Ourém, were also confirmed.

This year's line-up includes the special show “As Canções de Amor de Sérgio Godinho – Biografias do Amor” (The Love Songs of Sérgio Godinho – Biographies of Love) in Lisbon (Campo Pequeno, 13 February) and Porto (Coliseu do Porto, 15 February).

“After more than five decades of activity and with more than three dozen albums released, Sérgio Godinho brings together his love songs on stage for the first time, in a show that combines memory, rediscovery and current events,” says the organisation.

In 2001, Sérgio Godinho released the album “Biografias do Amor”, a compilation that brought together songs such as “Espalhem a notícia”, “A noite passada”, “Eu contigo”, “Romance de um dia na estrada”, “2.º Andar, Direito” and “O primeiro dia”.

Aurea, Carolina de Deus, Carolina Deslandes, Delfins, Fernando Daniel, João Pedro Pais, Marisa Liz, Rui Massena and José Pinhal Post-Mortem Experience complete the line-up.

Although the festival shows are paid events, on 14 February, Valentine’s Day, the central square of the UBBO shopping centre in Amadora will host a show by Aurea with free admission, limited to venue capacity.

All information about the programme is available on the festival’s official website.

The Às Vezes o Amor festival is an initiative of the agencies Produtores Associados and Locomotiva Azul.
