According to Executive Digest, the president of the Portuguese Association of General and Family Medicine, Nuno Jacinto, emphasises that "each self-declaration represents one less consultation in primary care."

The Nova School of Business and Economics also praises the Government’s measures on access to healthcare, announced on 13 January.

In a 2025 sample survey, 1,034 people were questioned, and around 20.9% of respondents who missed work due to illness reported experiencing ADD at work.

The report on the matter states that the measure implemented is very positive, especially given the shortage of family doctors in Portugal.
