Infarmed states that Towa Pharmaceutical will voluntarily recall nine batches of Sertralina toLife 50 and 100 milligram film-coated tablets, “because an impurity above the acceptable limit has been detected”.

In another information circular, also published on the website, the National Medicines and Health Products Authority has ordered the immediate suspension of the sale of ten batches of Tenormin, Atenolol 50 mg and 100 mg film-coated tablets, used to treat high blood pressure.

According to Infarmed, the company Pharmanovia will voluntarily recall these batches due to the detection of an “omission” in the Summary of Product Characteristics and the Package Leaflet, namely the reference to the adverse reaction “depression”.
