According to information from IPMA, the tremor occurred at 12:14 pm, at a depth of 15 kilometres, and four kilometres west-northwest of the town of Alenquer.

The earthquake did not cause personal or material damage and was felt with a maximum intensity of IV/V on the modified Mercalli scale in the municipality of Loures (Lisbon).

It was also felt with less intensity in the municipalities of Montemor-o-Novo (Évora), Peniche (Leiria), Alenquer, Lisbon, Sintra, Torres Vedras, Vila Franca de Xira (Lisbon), Benavente (Santarém), Almada and Barreiro (Setúbal), according to IPMA.

By 12:30 pm, the Lusa news agency had received reports that the earthquake had been felt in different municipalities in the districts of Lisbon, Leiria, Santarém, and Coimbra.

In a statement, the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) also revealed that by 12:30 pm there were no reports of personal or material damage, a claim also confirmed by IPMA.

"We appeal to the population to take extra care in areas previously affected by mass movements and instability of structures due to recent adverse weather phenomena," ANEPC highlighted.
