Speaking to Lusa, regarding the return to day care activities, the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, Ana Mendes Godinho, said that there are also many that have a scheduled opening "over the next few days".

“What was felt throughout the country was this reopening in a calm manner, with an environment of caution on the part of everyone, implementing preventive measures, but also confidence on the part of the community. What we felt twas that we still had a lower number of children than the capacity of the daycare centers, with many of the counties still evaluating this restart, with the forecast that until June 1st they will resume and return their children to the daycare centers ”, she said.

26,000 tests have already been carried out on daycare workers, 0.3% of which tested positive for covid-19, "which shows that it is a very residual situation," said the minister.

Manuel Lemos, of the União das Misericórdias Portuguesas (UMP), told Lusa that the lack of test results from some employees in some daycare centers, especially Aveiro and Braga, were among the few problems recorded in a reopening that “went well, in general” , all over the country.
