According to INE’s figures the underlying inflation index, which excludes prices for unprocessed food and energy, in August was 0.6 percent (down from 0.8 percent the previous month).

Portugal’s consumer price index (CPI) in August was down 0.2 percent on the month and up 0.7 percent on the year - an inflation rate one tenth of a percentage point higher than that for July, according to the latest report from the National Statistics Institute (INE).
