According to the INE’s figures, consumer confidence indicator came in at -13.7 points, down from -11.2 points in October.
In turn, the statistics body said that the economic climate indicator was also down in November at 0.9 points, against 1.2 points in October, with the report stating that there had been a drop in all sectors but attaining significance only in the case of construction and services.
The figures are in keeping with an earlier report from the European Commission that found economic confidence had stagnated across the Euro Zone and had fallen back both in the broader European Union and in Portugal.
The indicator remained stable in the Euro Zone at 106.1, still expansionary in sentiment, and was down 0.1 points in the European Union at 107.6.
In turn, in Portugal, the indicator contracted 1.7 points in November to stand at 103.6.
The Portuguese Institute of Statistics and the European Commission apply different methodologies in the calculation of their respective indicators.
