The number of people hospitalised is 374, eight more than on Sunday, and in intensive care there are 29 people, four less than on Sunday.

According to the DGS bulletin on the epidemiological situation, since the beginning of the pandemic until today there have been 52,825 confirmed cases of infection and 1,759 deaths, of which three more in the Lisbon region in the last 24 hours.

The Lisbon and Tagus Valley region today totals 27,209 cases of covid19, 99 more than on Sunday, which represents 63 percent of the total new cases at national level.

In percentage terms, in the last 24 hours the increase in the number of confirmed cases was 0.29 percent (from 52,668 to 52,825) and the death toll represented 1.9 percent.

The number of patients reported to have recovered from covid-19 has increased again in the last 24 hours to 38,600, 89 more than on Sunday.

As for confirmed cases, the North region has 19,094, plus 45 cases, and the Centre region has 4,520 confirmed infections, six more than the day before, the Algarve totals 931 cases, two more than on Sunday, and the Alentejo has 767, three more cases.

Madeira has the same 123 cases on Sunday, and no deaths, and in the Azores there are 181 cases of infection, two more than on Sunday. The number of people who died with covid-19 in the archipelago remains at 15.

The North region continues to record the highest number of deaths (832), followed by the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (620), the Centre (253), Alentejo (22), Algarve (17) and the Azores (15).

In global terms, there are more infected people in the age group between 40 and 49 years (8,731), followed by the group between 30 and 39 years, which now counts 8,631 cases.

The age group between 20 and 29 years old has totalled 8,108 cases in Portugal since the beginning of the pandemic, while in the range of 50 to 59 years old, the cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus are 7,961.

With more than 80 years old, 5,961 people had confirmed infections, while 5,285 people between 60 and 69 years old got sick.

The covid-19 has already affected 1,934 children in Portugal up to 9 years old and 2,469 between 10 and 19 years old in Portugal.

The data indicate that of the total fatalities, 885 are men and 874 are women. The three fatalities in the past 24 hours were men.

By age group, the highest number of deaths is concentrated in people over 80 years old (1,174), followed by those between 70 and 79 years old (345), between 60 and 69 years old (157) and between 50 and 59 years old (57). There are still 20 deaths registered between the ages of 40 and 49, four between the ages of 30 and 39 and two between the ages of 20 and 29.

Health authorities have 37,810 people under surveillance, 314 more than the previous day.

A total of 1,280 people are awaiting laboratory results, 178 fewer than the previous day.
