The first Funchal – Berlin Tegal flight will take off on 2 November, with two flights a week scheduled as part of a continued growth strategy from the company.

José Lopes, director easyJet for Portugal, said: “easyJet will now operate 65 routes in Portugal, and this is due to the continued commitment of the Portuguese and their confidence in our service.

“We are very pleased to inaugurate this new route and to see the reinforcement in easyJet’s commitment to the island of Madeira. easyJet is very well prepared to strengthen its offering at domestic airports, and that is where we will continue to focus.”
