The gauntlet was thrown down by Emídio Guerreiro MP, in declarations to reporters in Lisbon after he met with board directors and union leaders from the two Tagus ferry companies Transtejo and Soflusa, which have been holding a series of strikes in recent weeks.

Guerreiro explained that the situation with the Tagus ferries was due to a complete lack of investment by this government over and above difficulties that had been accumulated earlier.

He also raised his concerns about the public tenders that are just now being launched and whether they would have any effect.
