According to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the yellow warning for the districts will be in effect until 7pm today (9 October).

The yellow warning, the third on a scale of four, reveals a risk situation for certain weather dependent activities.

The IPMA forecasts forecasts today mostly clear skies on the continent, temporarily with cloudy periods in the North and Centre regions until early morning.

Light to moderate northern quadrant wind is also expected, temporarily from the southwest in the eastern Algarve in the afternoon, blowing moderate to strong on the west coast and highlands, sometimes gusting up to 75 kilometres per hour.

The forecast also points to a slight decrease in the minimum temperature and a decrease in the maximum.

The minimum temperatures on the continent will range from 9 degrees Celcius (Guarda) to 17 degrees (Faro) and maximum temperatures between 20 (Guarda) and 29 (Évora, Beja and Castelo Branco).
