Maritime Authority rescues 12 people in a cave in Lagoa

10 passengers and two crew were rescued from a tourist boat on 8 October.

According to Região Sul, the Patrão Pedro Jorge Casimiro Cardoso Lifeboat Station and the Portimão Maritime Police on 8 October at 2.56pm rescued 10 passengers and two crew members from a sea going tourist vessel that was stranded inside the crocodile cave in the municipality of Lagoa, due to malfunction.

In the rescue were involved, in addition to the Maritime Authority, the rescue boat of the Castaway Aid Institute of Benagil beach and a maritime tourist vessel of a company.

After the rescue, there was no need for medical assistance to the rescued people.
