After last year being recognised as the Best Aquarium in Europe and the second best in the world, Lisbon Oceanarium was this year voted as the top of 436 different experiences to have in Lisbon.
Tourists of 180 different nationalities have visited the popular attraction over the past 12 months, and, since it opened in 1998, the Oceanarium has welcomed over 19 million visitors, making it one of the most visited cultural facilities in Portugal.
For several weeks I have been seeing Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence being awarded to numerous tourism businesses.
Whilst there are are a lot of "excellent" businesses, which would be commendable, the proliferation of said certificates makes them appear to be easily obtainable and hence not such an achievement.
I wonder what level of "excellence" triggers the issue of these certificates?
