The accident happened Monday in Santarém.
According to newspaper Correio da Manhã the father went to the balcony to see who was ringing the intercom buzzer below and plummeted onto a neighbour’s car below when the railings gave way.
Hearing the commotion his nine-year-old daughter followed him out to see what had happened and also fell. Both are still in hospital.
