The Judiciary Police (PJ) on 5 March confirmed the search of the Albufeira Council, in the district of Faro, as part of an investigation of economic and financial crime that runs under DIAP Évora regional office.

“Searches were carried out in the Albufeira Chamber, both home and non-home, in the Algarve and also outside the region, in a process of economic and financial crime” that runs in the Regional Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) of Évora, a source from the PJ told Lusa.

The Attorney General's Office (PGR) also confirmed to Lusa that searches were carried out at the Albufeira Municipal Council, “in the context of an investigation conducted by the Public Ministry (MP) of the DIAP of Évora, in an investigation in which he is assisted by the PJ”.
