The majority of parts are exported to Spain, followed by Germany, France and the UK.
According to 2018 figures, this particularly industry was worth over 11 billion euros to the Portuguese economy, totalling five percent of the country’s GDP.
The national industry currently includes 265 factories across every region in the country, with the Algarve being the only exception.
