With tickets costing €30 for normal entrance and €60 for a ‘Private Party’ access pass, which sold out ahead of the event, Main’s regular Wednesday night ‘Swag On’ R&B/hip-hop party this week hosted by Chris Brown was billed by the venue as “the hottest party ever.”
Brown reportedly travelled to Portugal on a private jet with an entourage of 25 people and stayed in one of the capital’s most luxurious hotels.
The hit-maker was booked into a presidential suite and reserved another 13 rooms for his team.
In exchange for his entertaining at Main, the R&B star issued a list of requests including 15 bottles of Armand de Brignac champagne (otherwise known as Ace of Spades and which at Main cost around €1,000 a bottle), ten bottles of Ciroc vodka and three crates of Red Bull energy drink.
To get around Lisbon he also asked for four Mercedes Viano people-carriers, “but, unlike in other countries he has been to, he didn’t ask for cars with bullet-proof windows. He says Portugal is more peaceful…” explained Hugo Tabaco, one of the owners of Main, speaking to newspaper Correio da Manhã.
Lisbon is one of several European cities where Brown has hosted similar events, spending around half an hour inside the venues to promote tracks from his latest album ‘Royalty’, named after his three-year-old daughter.
It was the star himself who announced his Lisbon turn on his Instagram page.
“He wanted to come to Lisbon and wanted a private and exclusive venue, and they told him about Main. And we are going to welcome him in the best possible way”, Tabaco added.
