The Aveiro Territorial Command, through the Oliveira de Azeméis Criminal Investigation Centre, on 9 October, recovered 49 hives, valued at about 6,000 Euros, in Arouca.

The hives had been stolen in September in Alcanena, Santarém district, and following police demarches, the military was able to detect them in the possession of a 25-year-old man.

It was also found that the individual would have bought them online from a man who presented himself as their owner.

The facts were forwarded to the Torres Novas Court and the hives were returned to the rightful owner.

This action had the collaboration of the Santa Maria da Feira Criminal Investigation Centre.

Could we have better English translations of Portuguese articles, please. What does “demarches” mean, for example. It’s not a word I have ever heard in my 70 years.
