Around 70 people had to receive hospital treatment after visiting the Street Food Festival, which was held in Portimão between 23 July and 2 August.
An investigation was launched by ASAE’s southern branch which culminated in 7.5 tonnes of foodstuff, mostly kebab meat, being seized from two warehouses in Montijo and Loulé.
A statement from ASAE said that criminal charges have been made and other goods worth over €27,000 have been seized.
The warehouse in Montijo has also been temporarily closed down due to a lack of hygiene.
