"We are talking about the European champions in the title, a federation with a very progressive approach and that does a lot of work to develop football in Portugal,” Wright said.

In an interview with Lusa, Wright particularly values one aspect of Portuguese football: the ability to detect and perfect young players, which, in his opinion, is crucial to making Portugal one of the references in the area of transfers, launching every year countless talents for the most powerful clubs in the world.

Between Thursday and Friday, Oeiras will host well-known names in the sport, such as the president of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Fernando Gomes, the president of the Spanish League, Javier Tebas, the former French football selector Gerard Houllier, and the former footballers Christian Karembeu and Deco, among others, spread across different conferences and themes ranging from the form of leadership in European football to new areas, such as e-sports.

Considering very important the presence of a panel of speakers plural and international renown, the British head of Soccerex emphasised that the event analyses and tries to develop the very comprehensive and diverse industry of football in four major axes.

According to Soccerex's marketing director, one of the topics that promise to set the agenda between 5 and 6 September is the future of national and European competitions. At a time when there is much discussion about creating a European Super League - leading, in theory, to a devaluation of national championships - he does not believe that such a development is inevitable but anticipates novelties very shortly.

Soccerex has been organising these forums since 1995 and has already visited 19 cities and 13 different countries. This year, the organization has made a bet on "emerging markets in football" and has also passed through China in May, still present in the United States of America in November. Soccerex is held in Europe for the first time in Portugal, with Oeiras hosting more than 60 speakers in the two-day conference cycle.
