The rain that has been falling in northern Portugal is set to gradually makes its way south, with showers expected by Friday.
Inland areas will meanwhile feel the brunt of the colder weather, with lows set to fall to around zero in places, while snow will fall on high-lying areas.
Meanwhile, the National Maritime Agency has warned that rough seas can be expected from Saturday onwards, with waves expected to measureas high as five metres.
The Agency said the worst of the conditions can be expected along Portugal’s west coast.
Officials have warned people to stay clear of the water’s edge, while anglers have been told to stay clear of fishing near breaking waves, as conditions could suffer sudden and dramatic changes.
