According to the Instituto do Cinema and Audiovisual (ICA), and while December is still missing, 2019 has a positive balance in both spectators and gross ticket revenues, with 14 million spectators and €75.1 million.
In the same period of 2018, the figures had been 13.2 million viewers and €70 million of gross revenue.
Until November, the most viewed film by the Portuguese was “The Lion King” by Jon Favreau, with 1.2 million viewers.
Of the 14 million viewers registered by November, 10 million have seen films distributed by market leader NOS Lusomundo Audiovisuais.
