Zinedine Zidane’s son joins Aves

Enzo Zidane, son of Real Madrid boss Zinedine, has joined Primeira Liga side Desportivo das Aves after being released by Lausanne (Switzerland).

The 24-year-old had been linked with Aves’ rivals Vitoria de Guimaraes as recently as last week, but Aves swooped in for his signature. Last season Zidane made thirty-four appearances while on loan at Rayo Majadahonda in the Spanish second division.

Enzo was at the Juventus’ academy from a young age and later joined Real Madrid in 2004. He eventually went on to feature for Real at various youth levels, including for the B side and made one senior appearance for the club.

Real Madrid boss Zidane has three other sons currently playing football. Luca, a 21-year-old goalkeeper, has made two senior appearances for Real and is currently on loan at Racing Santander. Meanwhile, Theo, a 17-year-old midfielder, and Elyaz, a 13-year-old defender, are part of Real’s academy.
