Fish earns Algarve 37 million euros in nine months

Fish sold at Algarve docks between January and September this year earned the region over 37 million euros.

The Olhão docks took on a prominent role, with about half of the fish landed by the region's fishermen being traded there.

According to data from the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM), a total of 10486 tonnes of fish were sold in Algarve fish trading docks; Olhão was responsible for more than 5 thousand tons, followed by Portimão (2.9 thousand), Lagos (almost 1.5 thousand), Vila Real de Santo António (764) and Tavira (197).
