17 districts under weather warning

All districts of mainland Portugal, except Bragança, are on 6 November under a yellow weather warning due to the forecast of rainfall, sometimes heavy, accompanied by frequent thunderstorms and gusts of wind, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and of the Atmosphere (IPMA).

Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Santarém, Lisbon, Setúbal, Beja, Évora and Faro are under yellow warning due to the forecast of heavy rain and strong winds until 9:00pm and frequent thunderstorms until 6:00pm on 6 November.

The yellow notice for the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda, Aveiro, Coimbra and Leiria will be in effect until 00:00 am on 7 November.

The IPMA also placed the Madeira archipelago under yellow warning due to the forecast of strong wind with gusts up to 100 kilometers per hour until 12:00 pm on 6 November.

The IPMA forecasts on 6 November generally cloudy skies and showers, sometimes strong, occasionally with hail and accompanied by thunderstorms.

There is also a slight increase in the minimum temperature in the North and Centre regions and a decrease in the maximum on the west coast.
