The report by the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) for the first nine months of the year indicates that 63.5 percent of the total infractions recorded between January and September corresponded to speeding.

In total, 600,523 drivers were fined for speeding until September, while in 2019 there were 483,153 infractions.

The report states that, between January and September, more than 85.5 million vehicles were inspected, some of them by automatic inspection, which represents an increase of 30.9 percent compared to the same period in 2019. This increase was due to the addition of a further 37 percent more radar systems and 27.6 percent of the number of radars operated by Lisbon Municipal Police.
