The Furthest Points: Motorcycle Travels Through Spain and Portugal- Andy Hewitt

This year has been difficult for people who love to travel. As a result, many of us have had to follow the adventures that others have undertaken and written about.

The book revolves around an English couple Andy and his wife Kim. They set out on their Harley Davidson to discover the furthest points of Spain and Portugal. Their three-week trip starts from their home in the Algarve.

They envision a carefree trip full of beautiful scenery, great food and amazing weather.

As with any adventure that is not necessarily what happens during the trip. They also experience some difficult weather and hair-raising moments on the bike.

Along the way they visit castles, cathedrals, beaches and more. If you are familiar with the region you may recognise some of the places they visit. If you are not, he includes information about the area and you may end up looking up the places he mentions and planning your own visit to them.

The book also allows a glimpse into the relationship between the author and his wife. Hewitt has a great sense of humour. I laughed out loud quite a few times. He seems to be genuinely interested in history, culture and the people he meets which means you can’t help but enjoy his adventure. His stories of the region are sure to fire up your imagination.

Even if you are not a Harley rider, I think this book still has enough charm for you to enjoy. I found this book very enjoyable and informative.
