Environmental association Zero is today launching a noise measurement campaign, and is calling for the participation of citizens in the building of a database that covers the entire country.

The campaign, explains the association in a statement, intends to actively involve citizens in the measurement of noise that affects them and also make the country better informed and involved in environmental issues. Zero recalls that according to the World Health Organization, environmental noise is the second largest environmental cause of health problems, after air pollution.

When I moved here, I noticed that Portugal is pretty noisy. I mean - factories and roads are to close to a residential property. I can hear the noise of an oil refinery right now, although I don't live in an industrial zone.
I'm happy that I'm not the only one who notice this. Perhaps it will change someday.
