The Equestrian Center of Vilamoura was one of 10 organisers of international equestrian events that received the distinction.

“The attribution of the award, in the face of very strong competition from countries with a long tradition of organising international equestrian events, is a prize for our equestrian center but also for Vilamoura and the Algarve for the logistics it involves and for the presence of the best riders and horses in the world, said António Moura, coordinator of the Equestrian Center of Vilamoura.

“Horse Republic took into account in its analysis the fact that the Equestrian Center of Vilamoura has complied with the health controls required by national and international authorities, supported by the most modern technology for this type of situations”, he added.

Recently, between October and November, qualifying events for the next Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021 took place in the Vilamoura equestrian complex, and brought together top names in world of equestrian sport in the Algarve, including Marta Ortega, Athina Onassis, Cayetano Martinez de Irujo and Jessica Springsteen.
