Eight districts under orange weather warning due to heavy rain and rough seas

North-westerly waves are forecast to reach between 5 and 12 meters in places.

Eight districts on mainland Portugal are currently under an orange weather warning due to the forecast of sometimes heavy rain and rough seas. The Portuguese Met Office (IPMA) has placed the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria and Lisbon under orange warning until 9am Wednesday. West / north-westerly waves are forecast to reach between 5 and 12 meters in places.
