he STOP Teachers Union has started week-long strike action against the overall working conditions of teachers.

It said yesterday it was still unaware of the impact of the national strike, pointing out that the objective “is not to stop distance learning”.

Yesterday, about 1.2 million students returned to distance learning. The Education Minister should be among the first to re-open when lockdown measures ease as this would be the only way to counter inequalities caused by distance learning.
