As of 21 June, 4,365 SARS-CoV-2 self-test results had been reported on the electronic platform, which has been in operation from 20 May-.

The data provided to the Lusa News Agency also refer that the National Health Service Contact Centre - SNS24 (808 24 24 24) has registered, since 5 April, 2,425 contacts of asymptomatic users who reported a positive or inconclusive self-test result.

For the SPMS, the self-report has been "an added value" in the fight against the pandemic, arguing that its increasingly greater integration with the many tools of the NHS is "crucial".

Covid-19 self-tests are now part of the National Testing Strategy for SARS-CoV-2, and the notice of their results is important for monitoring the national testing activity, according to the Dr. Ricardo Jorge National Health Institute (INSA).

Since the sale of self-tests in pharmacies and parapharmacies was allowed, pharmaceutical distributors have distributed more than 500,000 self-tests.
