Nearly 1.8 million digital certificates issued in Portugal

The access to tourist and local accommodation establishments throughout mainland Portugal will now be subject to the existence of a digital certificate or negative test by the clients.

The measure was approved on 8 July by the Council of Ministers Council of Ministers and applies regardless of the existing incidence rate in the county where the tourist establishment and local accommodation is located.

"The requirement for testing in hotels is throughout the national territory and every day," said the Minister of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, stressing that the measure does not cover children under 12 years of age.

The measure, said the minister, continues the strategy that has been taken in order to extend the use of the digital certificate or the requirement of a negative test.

The Minister of Economy, Pedro Siza Vieira, said that the digital certificate or test is presented at check-in.

I live in Lebanon and have taken both doses of the Pfizer biotech vaccine . I now have a digital certificate with a QR code issued by the Ministry of health of Lebanon . Is there a possibility that I can covert this certificate to a Portuguese / EU covid certificate ?

The economy will not recover...No matter how hard you try to convince people to take a vaccination...I'm a legal resident here and will not be spending my money traveling throughout Portugal and staying at hotel's and eating at places period...You are Criminals...

Another measure to try and "encourage" people into taking an experimental vaccine? No thanks, I'm a regular visitor but my family wont be visiting Portugal this year (or perhaps never again, dont care anymore at this point). Had enough of so much nonsense. I'd rather holiday in my home country or perhaps it is time to explore Sweden!
