Search resumed for missing man in Marco de Canaveses

Firefighters in Marco de Canaveses and the GNR resumed today, at 8:30 am, the search to find the man who disappeared during the Trail das Capelas, which took place on 18 July, in parish of Soalhães, revealed the CDOS of Porto.

A source from the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Porto said that the searches were resumed at 8:30 am and that there are elements of firefighters from Marco de Canaveses and the National Republican Guard (GNR) at the scene.

The man, who participated in Trail das Capelas, "continues to be sought by the authorities", assured Lusa a source from the Marco de Canaveses Firefighters.

Jornal de Notícias reported on 18 July, citing the commander of the Marco de Canaveses firefighters, that the 48-year-old man from Felgueiras will have been seen for the last time at the end of the morning and would be a few meters from the end of the trial when he disappeared.

The alert for the athlete's disappearance was given to authorities at 14:00 on 18 July.
