For three days, the platform to make the scheduling request will be available exclusively for this age group, for which two periods are already planned for the administration of the first doses of vaccine.

According to the calendar released on Wednesday by the 'task-force' which coordinates the vaccination process against covid-19, young people aged 12 and over who self-schedule by Saturday will be vaccinated on two weekends: 21 and August 22nd and August 28th and 29th.

Afterwards, the second doses will be administered on the weekends of 11th and 12th, and 18th and 19th of September, so that this age group can complete the vaccination process before the start of the school year.

The self-scheduling of the vaccine, which is done through the portal www.covid19.min-saude.pt, will then be available again for users aged 18 years and over from 15 August.

From that age onwards, people can also use the "Open House", which does not require appointments, requiring only to obtain an electronic password.

However, the next weekend, August 14th and 15th, will be reserved for the vaccination of 16 and 17 year olds.

On Tuesday, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) recommended universal vaccination of children and young people between 12 and 15 years old, thus no longer limited to specific situations, such as cases where there are high-risk diseases.
