Over the weekend, and until 18:00 this Sunday, around 88,800 children aged between 9 and 11 were vaccinated, a number higher than those scheduled, which was around 77,000, according to the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

Data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), consulted by the Lusa agency, indicate that in Portugal there are 97,276 children aged 9 years old, 101,022 aged 10 years old, and 97,436 aged 11 years old, totalling 295,734.

Portugal started the vaccination of children between 9 and 11 years old this weekend, with the aim of vaccinating the age group from 5 to 11 years old.

Children aged 9 to 11 years who were not vaccinated this weekend will have the opportunity to schedule vaccination in the coming next days dedicated to paediatric vaccination, says the DGS.
