The districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro and Braga are currently under a yellow weather warning due to the forecast of rain and strong wind, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

For these four districts of mainland Portugal, periods of heavy rain are expected, with gusts of wind up to 75 kilometres per hour (km/h).

The IPMA also issued a yellow weather warning for the districts of Castelo Branco and Guarda due to snowfall, with between three and 10 centimetres of snowfall expected today above 1,800 metres until 21:00 today.

The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever the weather situation represents a risk for certain activities.

IPMA forecasts for today minimum temperatures fluctuating between 3 degrees Celsius (in Guarda and Bragança) and 10 (in Faro, Setúbal and Aveiro) and maximum temperatures between 9 (in Guarda) and 18 (in Faro).
