In a short note sent to newsrooms about support for Ukraine, the ministry says that “at the request of the Ukrainian authorities, Portugal will provide military equipment”.

The list of material includes “vests, helmets, night vision goggles, grenades and ammunition of different calibers, complete portable radios, analogue repeaters and automatic G3 rifles”, lists the Ministry of National Defense.

However, in a publication on his official page on the social network Twitter, Minister João Gomes Cravinho shared precisely this note from the ministry stating that "Portugal supports Ukraine to defend itself against the unjustified, illegal and unacceptable invasion by Russia".

Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the Czech Republic, among others, also announced deliveries of weapons and fuel to Ukrainian forces, responding to Kiev's pleas for help.
