It was the largest specimen of the species flagged since 2010 in Portuguese waters, a researcher from the University of Algarve (UAlg) told Lusa News Agency.
The fish had an estimated weight of 200 kilograms and had been tagged with a transmitter in 2018, in eastern Canada.
