The analysis shows that the “Covid-19 epidemic maintains a very high transmissibility, with a stable trend”, advance the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) and the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA), which advise the maintenance of epidemiological surveillance and individual protection measures in groups at higher risk, as well as booster vaccination.

Fewer deaths

Regarding specific mortality by Covid-19, it registers a value of 25.1 deaths in 14 days per one million inhabitants, which shows a decreasing trend, but continues to be above the threshold of 20.0 deaths defined by the European Center of Disease Control (ECDC) for this indicator.

“All-cause mortality is within the expected values for the time of year, which indicates a reduced impact of the pandemic on mortality”, says the health authority.
