The information released by the Regional Secretariat for Social Inclusion and Citizenship highlights that, at the end of June, “10,904 unemployed were registered at the Madeira Employment Institute [IEM], which corresponds to a decrease of 965 registered people compared to the previous month”.

According to the analysis of the Madeiran Government, “only going back to February 2009 can we find a lower value of the number of registered members in the IEM”.

And, compared to the same month of 2021, “there are 8,168 fewer unemployed in Madeira, which corresponds to a decrease of 42.8%”, he adds.

The Madeiran executive (PSD/CDS) also highlights that “the number of people enrolled for less than a year decreased by 9.9% compared to May 2022, while the number of long-term unemployed decreased by 7.0%”.
