“SNS24 celebrates five years of activity and, this year alone, has already answered more than eight million calls. 2022 is the year with the highest number of calls ever, exceeding the more than six million calls made in 2021,” said the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS), in a statement.

The SNS24 line also includes, since April 2020, the Psychological Counselling Line, which “provided support to more than 167 thousand people”, having already answered more than 40 thousand calls this year.

“This service became available in English and, in just three months, it answered more than 2,100 calls from non-Portuguese-speaking citizens”, says the SPMS.

The same source details that the SNS 24 app recorded 7.5 million downloads, allowing citizens access to a set of health information, such as the Vaccine Bulletin, prescriptions, requisitions and the results of medical exams.

The SNS 24 Portal was visited this year by more than 21 million users.
