Henrique Sá Pessoa and José Avillez are among the 100 best chefs in the world, occupying the 70th and 80th places, respectively, in The Best Chef Awards, presented at the Palacio de Cibeles, in Madrid.

However, despite the prestige of being on the list, both chefs recorded significant drops in the table compared to last year. Sá Pessoa, owner of Alma restaurant in Lisbon, was in 38th position, while Avillez, owner of Belcanto, also in the capital, was in 44th.

Hans Neuner, an Austrian living in Portugal, who is the head chef at Ocean, in Porches, Lagoa (Algarve), was also included in the list, occupying the 62nd position.

Spaniard Dabiz Muñoz (DiverXO, Madrid) was considered the best chef in the world for the second consecutive year. In second place was René Redzepi (Noma, Denmark) and rounding out the top 3 is Joan Roca (El Celler de Can Roca, Spain), who moved up one position from 2021.
