The European Parliament has approved new rules that will introduce in the European Union (EU), from autumn 2024, a universal charger for mobile phones, tablets and cameras, according to Reuters. With this measure, Apple will have to adapt its cables to the USB-C model, similar to Androids.

The proposal, which received 602 votes in favour and 13 against, confirms the agreement reached in June between MEPs and the 27 EU member states, according to which consumers will no longer need different chargers and cables for the various portable electronic devices.
