According to data released by the Associação dos Hotéis e Empreendimentos Turísticos do Algarve (AHETA) in the summary of the monthly evolution of activity in the sector, the record is above the average value for the month, but 2.9% below the occupancy of 2019 (year before the pandemic).

According to the business association, the markets that recorded the greatest declines were the German, with 3.7% less (percentage points – p.p.), followed by the British, 0.8 minus (p.p.).

The Irish market (+1.2p.p.) and the national market (+0.5p.p.) were the ones that showed the biggest increases compared to October 2019, in what is considered, until today, by Algarve hoteliers as the best year for Portuguese tourism.
