"With the country 'stopping' to watch the football team at the Qatar World Cup, Fixando estimates that, for professionals registered on the platform, this stop represents around €2.8 million that will not be billed, since 24% of self-employed say they will stop work to watch the game", reads a statement reported by Notícias ao Minuto.

Which sectors will register the most losses? "Home services, which include gardeners, painters or plumbers, represent the largest share with estimated losses of around €1.2 million, followed by event professionals (€960,000) and technical assistance services (€175,000)".

As for employees, "only 9% revealed that they had been informed by their employer that work would be suspended so that they could watch the game, with 31% defending that they should be able to stop work during the matches of the Portuguese team".
