The Portugal-Uruguay match "was the Portuguese game that registered the highest audience to date".

"The transmission of this game by RTP1 had a great impact for the channel, since it registered a 'share' of 24.5%, an increase of 14.5 percentage points compared to the accumulated average of the month of October".

According to Universal McCann, "the second game of the Portuguese team registered the highest audience when compared to the second games of other championships such as Euro 2020 and the 2018 World Cup".

According to UM, "there was a growth trend throughout the broadcast", and "the second part of the match received special attention from the Portuguese, when the two goals of the Portuguese team were scored, with the maximum peak of audiences coming close to the final whistle".

In the first game, which took place last week, almost four million people watched the broadcast of the Portuguese national team's game against Ghana, broadcast by TVI.

TVI broadcast the debut game which had a total of 3.9 million people watching, with an average audience of 2.3 million and a 'share' of 64.5%, being now the second most watched game of the phase of groups, followed by Brazil - Serbia, Argentina - Mexico and France - Australia.
