The biggest national fashion event has several trans models on the catwalk wearing pieces from the first Portuguese brand of transgender lingerie.

This feminine underwear, which seeks to provide greater comfort and self-esteem to the trans woman, will be used in the fashion shows of renowned designers: Nuno Baltazar, Luís Carvalho and Valentim Quaresma.

The idea was born to combat the stigma associated with the trans community. In the words of Giovanna Tavares: “Society likes to put us in the box of aberration, prostitution and marginality”.

This unprecedented initiative has united the fashion industry in Portugal to send a strong message that the inclusion of all people, regardless of their gender identity, should be normal and constant.

Giovanna Tavares concluded by saying: “This line was not designed to hide anything, but to show what we really are: WOMEN. I couldn't be more satisfied with the result, the show was exactly as I envisioned it: no one saw it, but everyone applauded. After all, we can be news without being the news.”
